who hare been visiting for several
weeks In California and from there
1 went to Missouri to visit Mrs. Coch
iran's relatives, will arrive borne to-
morrow.

of Mrs. Leone Bean Fulton. Mrs. Ful
ton Is also a Badger native and was
school chums with her guests.
Miss Ida Chancey, who formerly
lived in this county and who was at
one tira? a resident of this city, but
now empolyed ns a compositor on the
Hood River News, is in the city enjoy
ing; a month's vacation. She will re
main in La Grande until after tha
Fourth of July and will then visit her
many friends In Union and other plac

Fcrpuson Buys Ranch.
Lee Ferguson of this city has pur
chased the Jehu Cummings ranch
near Elgin, consisting of 472 1-2 acres,
the consideration was about $20,000.
Tucker & Ryder, the Elgin real estate
dealers, made the dfal. Mr. Ferguson
intends to operate this ranch shortly,
but not at present.
