B. Ntxon, a well known O-W. R. & N. brakeman, narrowly escaped death and sustained injuries which threatened him for a time the loss of a foot, says the Pen dleton Live Wire. The injured railroad man was pick ed np by companions and brought to Pendleton on train No. 18 Wednesday evening. He was removed at once to the hospital where Dr. Rlngo at tended film. v. It is now believed that the foot can be saved, although it was necessary to amputate two toes. His lower limb waa badly crushed. Nixon will be taken to Portland on Train No. 5 this evening.
