commenced a time since but dropped
for the time being, will again be re
sumed. The program Is rapidly as
suming 'perfection and will shortly
be ready J or announcement tny detail.
The main numbers, of course, are al
ready provided for.
The - directors displayed plenty of
enthusiasm last evening and the big
July event will be handled with every
possible attention to the minutest de
tail, the object being to give the ticket
holders just as much as is possible. ;.

preme count commencing next Mon

before that august body number many

The appealed case of L. Remmlllard
of this city accused of -illicit Belling of
liquor when this county was dry, will
come up for argument; the same is
true of the Townsend whiskey cases
from Palmer Junction. Another mat
ter of great Importance to -Wallowa
county and In this connection, is the
appealed decision of Judge Knowles
relative to the rights' and privileges
of wet towns In dry counties. The
application of the Home Rule law is
Involved and not only Wallowa coun
ty but the entire state Is much Inter
ested.
Then. too. the Coolldge vs. O. R. &
N. case, a bit of litigation of much In
terest locally, will bs i for trrfument
The famous escheat case, in which
the state of Oregon has twice secured
a circuit court Jury verdict, but which
the supreme court sent back for re
trial after the first .verdict for. the
state, will again appear, having been
appealed from a decision of the cir
cuit court. This case Involves the
Morrison estate In this county and
also figured Indirectly In the late ses
slon of the legislature.
