A plugged retainer pipe, caused the wreck of the fast mall at Huron a few days ago, according to the report of the Investigating committee Jvmt made public. The committee reports as fol lows: ' . - We, the board of Inquiry, find that the cause of derailment of N. Y. C. & H. R. baggage car 2783, train No. 9, at mile post 270, 2:41 a. m., April 18, 1811, causing a delay of six hours to train No. 9, five hours, 30 minutes to train No. 10, two hours, five minutes to train No. 6 and six hours to expe dite west, was on account of retainer pipe on n; Y. C. ft H.'R. 2783 being plugged up causing a slow release of air brakes which caused the wheels to overheat loosening the tire. Retain ers on this car were turned down six (6) miles east of point of accident but on account of the obstruction In re tainer pipe, brakes would not release, causing tlrea to become overheated, and loosened the same. , '.
