Cosy Other Railroad New.
Changes In numbering engines have
been ordered by O.-W, officials and
within a short time there will be half
a dozen other engines here whose
identity, will be changed as far as
th ir : numbers are , concerned. The
most Important of the changes brought
about for reasons not announced, but
presumed to be on account of the
change from 0., R. & N. to 0,-W.,
comes with the big Mallte engines
which are soon to be changed from
450, 451 and 452 to the 700 class, com
mencing with 700 and running 700, 701
and 702. The first Mallet to under
go this change was 450 which is now
coming out of the Albina shops after
a complete overhauling, and Inciden
tally as 700. No. 451 will be sent
from here at once and it will come
back as 701 and so on. In addition
to these changes the 205 will be put
Into the 300 class and the 211 will be
changed to the 250 class at once. Lo

building will be much handier to the
division foreman's office where the

ing several blocks.
Yards in Good Condition.
Assistant Superintendent Ladd, of
he mechanical department, was in
La Grande yesterday and expressed
his full fledged satisfaction at the man
n;r In which Division Foreman Wat
son and his assistants have expedited
the Installation of machinery in the
new machine shop and the general
trim appearance of the yards during
the difficult work. With the exception
of a few odds and ends, the old ma

building. The stalls used in the round
house will how be available for round
house purposes. ...'.

I P. Coolie, representing Dearborn
Compound was in the city yesterday
railing on railroad officials here. He

Engine 199, the proverbial hoodoo,
