Town, will Enter fc'wt Comity, Prof. Roy Conklln, head of the pub lie schools at Cove and owner of pure bred horses and a vice president in the Union Stock show association, will go to Wallowa next year. The Wallowa Sun reports: ' Friday evening the board of direc tors mt and elected Prof. Roy Conk ling of Cove to succeed Prof. H. H. Bronson as principal of schools. At the same meeting Miss Anna Strong was re-elected assistant principal and Misses Etha Klooch, Olga Post and Minnie M. Miller were retained in th: flfst, first and second grades respect ively. The positions in third, fourth, sixth and seventh grades are yet to .till. Prof. H. H. Bronson who has had charge of the school for the past three years did not seek a re-election as the recent attack of pneumonia has warned him to seek a lower altitude and less rigid climate for th- next year. He will secure a school in western Oregon for the next year. Prof. Conklln s, who has had charge of the Cove school for several yean, cora;g highly recommended as an in structor and disciplinarian. Mori lock was noml nated to succeed himself as mayor of the city, Edwin Marvin was re-nominated for councilman and J. H. Mini naugh was named to succeed C. A. Mc Claran, according to the Wallowa Sun, J. C. Ban dand E. L. Holmes declined the re-norainatlon for th: offices of recorder and treasurer, respectively, and pruce Cox was named for treas urer and'F. T. Baker for recorder by acclamation. The ticket was d nomi nated the Citizen's ticket. There vas no demand for city of lceB and the two salaried Jobs went to the respective nomine-s without a vote. H. E. Driver was named for mayor but was defeated for the nomi nation by the present incumbent. T. E. Mitchell and T. C. Miller were in the race for places as councllmen but failed to get as many votes as the chairman thought necessary to entitle them to a place on the ticket. Bruce Cox presided at" the meeting and H.
