preparing Carnarvon castle for the In
vestiture of the prince of Wales this
wm.p is proceeding rapmiy, ana
many additional workmen have now
been employed. It is understood that
the ceremony will take place in the
upper courtyard on the site of the
circle of stones put up for the nation
al Welsh Eisteddfod held there five
years ago. Several of the towers of
the castle are being prepared for the
accomodation of the royal family.

also Involved In thla hearing next
Monday. The local situation has been
so arranged and Involved that what
benefits Spokane in this particular In
stance benefits La Grande. While
this city is not mentioned in ta? titles
of the case, the reading of the com
plaint is such that whateer Spokane
gains will be enjoyed by La Grande
as well.

state commerce commission here to
day, have been postpond until .next;
month. The cases are regarded at of
the highest Importance In railroad clr?
cles, as the question of what consti
tutes a common carrier and also the
