Jealous of Horace and Jealous of Jean, Oscar thinks he loves Alice, with whom he Is constantly finding fault for show ing the slightest attention to any body but himself. Jean has a good .deal of dog sense, and Instinctively Bhuns Oscar, whose disposition is any thing but lovable. The( dog is very fond of Horace who is a man of gen tle nature and kindly character. Jean la, always the companion of Alice and naturally come In for the vent of Os car's' spleen whenever it is aroused against Horacel or Alice. ' ; Oscar longs to thwart Horace in his attention to Alice.
