Owing to the remarkable modesty which has obtained for so long in Un ion county the outside world is Just beginning to awaken to the facts about this wonderful country. There is ho rush of bomeseekers at present to La Grande, there is no hurrah about what Is going on here, but Just the same there is t steady stream of peo ple stopping in this valley for a few days, some for several weeks, looking lor homes and investments. The real estate men of La Grande know this and there is not a day passes that some stranger isn't shown the immense opportunities offered here, ' , - Moving of real estate will begin about the first of the year and you will see an activity never before felt in this part of Oregon. All of which goes to show that La Grande really is to be the Spokane of Oregon. Noth ing tan prevent It, nothing can retard it except a panic, so prepare yourself for the big business that is coming. Installation of new heating plants at the sew high school, the old high school and the North Side grade school buildings will now made possible. The three boilers t be used in these three buildings are in the city and were unloaded today. The old and new high school will be heated by one plant but two boilers will be neces sary in the one plant.
