Mr. and Mrs. Benham bad been out walking and la stepping from a sidewalk on Fourth street to perfectly smooth sur face of the street. Mrs. Benham broke a bone in her left ankle. The step was less than nine inches high but it was sufficient to break a bone, in a man ner which Mt. and Mrs. Benham can not explain. To make the incident more peculiar, Mrs. Benham walked more than a mile after the break oc curred. She Is progressing nicely, to day and hopes to be able to use the ankle In a short time. .".'.
