tem of getting this edition into the
middle and eastern states and reach
ing people that La Grande wants to

ley, and to the city of La Grande."
That Is all very true, indeed, but did

working the Almighty just a little.
We are not doing anything for our

world know what we have.
How many people on the coast
know that La Grande has the only
beet sugar factory in Oregon?

Large capital is invested here, but It

this petty thinking and realize there
is a big, wide world and that La
Grande can be one of the very im

National Association Arranges Ex.

Chicago, Aug. 16. Three men's
rounds and three women's rounds, at
various distances, are down for decis
ion today at the opening of the thirty
second annual tournament of the
National Archery Association of the
Usltci Stater. Erpert: -rlth br

tered in the competitions, which will
continue four days. Morning and af
ternoqn sessions will be held each
day, he events both scratch and han
dicap, being provided in equal num
bers for both men and women.
The annual business meeting will
be held Thursday evening at the Ven
dome hotel. The tournament will be
wound up on Friday morning, when
prizes will be awarded.
