From Windsor, England comes a
letter to the La Grande commercial
club aBklng for Information relative
to the resources and business possi
bilities of the Grande Ronde valley.
The letter is written by a man named
W, D. Scott, and he wants informa
tion relative to the price of land, the
products and the resources. He ad
mits that be has heard of the Grande
Ronde through literature, and wants
more of the same kind of informa
tion. He has heard of Oregon in gen
eral, but seems to be especially pleas
ed with the prospects of this county,
and it is presumed that when the
proper information is sent to him, he
will come here to investigate first
hand.

Serious Charge Preferred Against
Young Ma and Fine Attached v
Leon Kennedy, who for the past
several months has been conducting
a picture gallery In the Foley hotel
building, was last night arrested in a
room of a leading hotel, and placed la
jail, on a charge of illicit' cohabita
tion. The woman in the case is a
Pendleton girl, who left town Imme
diately after the arrest of Kennedy
last night
Kennedy was fined $50 this morn
ing when arraigned before Judge Cox
of the city police court.
