At today's convention a fight is on
for the congressional nomination in
the Twenty-seventh district, composed
of the bounties of Herkimer and
Oneida, between Theodore Douglas
Robinson, jnephew of ..ex-President
Roosevelt and Charles S. Mlllington.
the Incumbent. .The contest is about
the warmest ever, waged in this hot
bed of republicanism.
Mlllington and his supporters, led
by slate committeeman .Strpebel,. as
sert that there will be no difficulty in
renominating Mlllington. But this Is
a year of surprises and young Robin
son, while not so sure of nomination,
thinks he has a fighting chance and
!o (.ulug io cio ait in his power to
win it.. Young Robinson has the un
qualified endorsement of his uncle,
but the ex-president says he will not
enter the fight actively until Robin
son actually gets the nomination. If
he succeeds. T. R. has promised to
make some speeches In his behalf.

red and twenty-five engineers of the
Grand Trunk will strike tomorrow, ac
cording to a statement issued by the
strikers here today. It is believed
with the engineers out the difficulty
will be settled in two .days. The
engineers claim they will quit unlesj
the non-union men are fired.
