Here Is a strange tning about th'
eye, that is little, understood by the
general public; the eye efforts to dis
tinct vision, can and does rob the oth
er bodily organs of nervous energy.
What is known as "eye-strain," is
often closely connected with too much
disorder, and ; with other ailments,
causing other ailments.. -
The over worked eye. Is merely
taking Its toil. Nature's first purpose,
seems to be, that we shall see dis
tinctly, and if necessary she will rob
Peter (the stomach) of nervous ener
gy, to pay Paul (the eye).
But properly fitted glasses, the eye
relieved of the necessity of making an
extraordinary effort, no longer, takes
an undue share of energy and "pres
to" the trouble disappears. - . ;
The most common among eye dif
ficulties, is far Bightedness.
This' condition, is caused by a lack
of refractive power, of the organ or by
the eye, being imperfectly formed
that Is, larger vertically, than hori
zontlcally, this trouble is the cause
of numerous headaches, and nervous
difficulties. ; : V ,
