Several crack skaters from r the United States are competing , today . in , the Canadian out-door skating championships. IJalley and Austin entertain matinee crowd at Steward's this afternoon and tonight again appear before a La Grande audience with their fun and frolic. - At the Steward Opera House tonight our theatre goers will have an opportunity for the first time of seeing those cleverly heralded com edians, Bailey and Austin and their big supporting company of 75 peo ple in what promises to be the most novel attraction of the season The Top of , the World, who are now, re turning from a most successful trip of the Pacific Coast. This is the first time these clever boys have ever been seen in this city. They are not only accomplished singers, dancers, acrobats and ath letes, but comedians who would be successful if they were not so ver atile in a hundred ways. They alone have been responsible for the great financial and popular success of the Top of the World, more so than any of the two score novelties in . which the piece abounds. They are coming here themselves and with few ex ceptions with the original company which ran for over a year at the Casino and Majestic theatres, New York, and the Studebaker theatre In Chicago. The most extravagant of praise and laudible criticism follows them in each city, and it Is safe to say , that here Is an attraction that Js going to please everyone.
