An ordinance was passed providing for the sus pension of electric lights over the walks. A dog tax ordinance was passed to the , second reading. Con siderable time' was taken up over the payment of a bill for extra work by the American Power Co., there are several councllmen who are not satisfied that the work or laying the Beaver Creek pipe line was done ac cording to contract. . At a former session It was derided not to formally accept the work un til' such time as the weather would permit of a personal Inspection, of the pipe Hue and it was seemingly this general distrust that for a time caused a delay In the payment of this bill for extra work. Mr. Uren, representing ;Uiej American Water & Power Co., was present and address ed the council. He assured them that no other company would have com pleted the work in the time hla com pany did and that had the city been . doing the work the taxpayers would not have stood for the extra expense in ruBhlng the work during all kinds of weather and that the water would not have been running into the re servoir until summer.
