Smith came in from Elgin this afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. George Miller are over from the Cove, today. Ed. Logan of Summerville came up this morning to see what Santa Clause was offering for sal- R. E. Smith, of the firm of Smith Green made a business trip to Elgin today. - Herman Clark, who Is attending the Willamette University at Salem, is home for the holidays. Miss Leverne Wissler of Pendleton is visiting with Miss Cecile Lilly at her home on Fourth street. Miss Cecil Smith of Lexington, Neb. is visiting at the home of Mrs. II. Crawford, who has been at ' Spokane for the past eight months re turned home last night to spend the ' holidays with his home folk. - C. W. Franklin, a lumberman of En terprise came in this afternoon and will leave tonight to spend Christmas with St. Louis relatives. Naomi Williamson and Sarah Rid dle, both students at the University of Oregon, will come home for the holi days and are expected to arrive this G evening. i Mrs. R. A. Wissler, formerly of this city but now of Pendleton, who has been vilsting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Lincoln has returned home to Pendlton. L. L. Dibble, special agent for the American Central Insurance Com pany was in the city today calling on the La Grande Investment Company, the local agents for that company. B. The remains of the late Alfred Jas; Hunter, who died at Hot Lake Satur day morning was shipped last evening to bis former home at Rupert, Idaho. His sister, Miss S.
