Wants Lower Rates.
"In view of the fact that Beaver
Creek water will soon be available
for distribution, an dinasmuch as the
supply will be more than will be nec
cessary at present, and the cgst of
storage and distribution much less, I
believe it to be the duty of this Coun
cil to- give their attention to the mat
ter of readjusting rates of charges
for water.
I would therefore suggest that the
water committee take this matter up
ub son as possible and after careful

At present there is a six inch main. I
would sugest that before the street Ih
paved a ten Inch main is put in. The
six inth main that is ft present in
use is of such material that it tan be
taken out and used elsewhere.

"In correction with the police de
parcnt, 1 wish to remind the offi
cials tutreof that this council dots
not pass ordinances for pastime. Ne
ither Is the enforcement of ordinances
supposed to be at the dictation o thi
police Oepartment. For example
this council after careful consldera-

some reason or other after. one fu
tile attempt, its enforcement was abar
doned, and spectacle peddler? nvC.

made, although in some cas- there
are quite large tracts or fai-ant prop

unfair to require these people to acad
amize their streets and at the same
time to allow the streets in the more I
thirkly populated districts of the city I
to remain in their preBont condition. '
T therefore suggest that the coun- .
cil proceed to macadamize the streets
included in that part of the city thtt
is bounded by and including C randy

and 'First Btreets, also the cross
streets between Adams avri'te j.C'l
