What Does Osteopathy Treat 1 For some reason everybody upon first hearing of osteopathy imagines it is a very limited treatment, good for a few ills, but not adopted to treat all sorts of conditions, actute and chron ic. Such an assumption is very eron eous. Osteopathy is a complete system of medicine and is adopted t othe cure relief and cure of all curable cases. It is junt as successful if not much more so in the acute field, such as caring for la grippe, tonsillitis, pneu monia, typhoid and other fevers, cramp colic, dyspepsia, dysentery, and men Btrual disorders, than in the field of chronic cases like rheumatism, para lysis, chronic dislocations and such things in the cure of which osteopathy got much of Its early fame. Many ills, usually relegated exclu sively to the surgical field are better treated by osteopathy than by the knife. While osteopathy makes a good share of the fashionable operations of the day unnecessary, it recognizes the value of surgery as a last resort in many cases yet not nearly so many as do many physicians of other and older schools and it employs the skill of surgery when It is necessary.
