Whereas, there are bonds of the City of La Grande, in the sum of $20,000 dated on the 10th day of December 1889, bearing interest at the rate of per cent per arnum, which fall due on the 10th day of December, 1909; and U si ' at the rate of not to exceed S wr ceat per annum to be sold at not less than par value cf said bonds, payable both principal and interest 'a United State Gold Coin, to run for a period of twen ty years from date, to be redeemed and paid, at any time after ten years from date, at the option of the city, which said bonds are to be Issued and sold for the purpose of refunding bonds of the City in the said rim 'of 150,000. commonly known as the Water Works Bonds. .' . .
