The lineup of the local seconds Is somewhat undecided just uow for the reason that some of the stars of the second squad may be re tained in La Grande as utility men for the first team. That a fast game will result in Union is cretain. Union has "some" team as evinced in the game with Baker Clty( and the youngsters, who next year and the year after that will be the neuclus for the first team here will have to do qnm tall nltHn. tn Vo ""oh. 10 FARMERS o. A. C SENDING OUT VALUABLE BOOKLETTS. "Business Side of Farming," Just og The t'oli'Ige Press. The "Business Side of Farming," is the title of a recent publicatiou from the Oregon Agricultural College press. The bulletin Is part I of the gen era! subject and Is devoted to farm records. It is written in a clear, simple i style and will be easily comprehended j by any farmer. It la handsomely Illus trated by 20 full page engravings. Fu ture bulletins on rural law and rural economy are promised. Like all the college and station bulletins, it Is pub lished for free distribution It is gratifying to note that the state college is taking the lead in tuix Important subject No phase of agri cultural education is more important or more generally neglected. The short comings of the American farmer In this respect has been revealed repeat edly. President Roosevelt on the Ru ral Commission have remarked, on more than one occasion, , that this is one of the defects of rural education. The lack of correct business methct's have not only ruined countless farmers but it often drives the boys off the farm. The present census is emphas izing statistics on farm flnanco mure than usually, but It is feared that but little Information that is absolutely re liable will be given. Professor Bexell, the author of tbr bulletin, says in his introduction: "U Is a truism to say that the financial side of farming is of the uttermost im portance. But the fact remains thai this side of the world's greatest In dustry is almost entirely neglected by both the farmer and the Bchoola Professor Baily says on this subject In visiting practically every farm In J one of the counties of New York wj did not find one man who knew how much it cost him to produce milk or I to raise any of his crops.' " i The edition will not cover the entire j station mailing list, but the bulletin ia mailed to any one on request. Ques tions on the business side of farming will be cheerfully answered. Address, . Professor J. A. Bexell, Oregon Agrl- i cultural College., Corvallis, Ore. MONEY IX HOGS. Farmer Near SummoniHe Sells For $363. One ; .
