Hugh Jackson Is In Jail at Prairie City today for the killing of a Greek a few miles out of the Sumpter Valley railroad., which is now under construction.: Jackson and the Greek were in a tent with the other men and alii of them were drinking. Jackson demand ed that the Greek put up another dol lar with which to buy whiskey, which the Greek refused to do. A quarrel fol lowed and Jackson was ejected from the tent He armed himself with 1 gun and returned. But the Greek saw him firs and made for him with a club. Jackson aimed him gun at the Greek and fired the bullet passing through the foreigners breast and death fol lowed instantly. The murderer gave himself up to the officers and he was taken to Prairie City and lodged a jail. He wasa driver for Charles Cok. The crime occurred In Grant county.
