HI Little Player Shows up ot Help La Grande Win Honors. A surprise in the way of an un looked for "Big Husky" was sprung on Coach Wall and the local high school football squad at practice yesterday afternoon when "Big" Little ,a product of the La Grande grades appeared on the field. Little weighs 175 pounds and measures al most si xfeet in height. At present lie is the heaviest man on the field. The new ' man, whom the players have nicknamed "Big," a suitable title to fit his real name "Little," has been attending the White school and the north side school during the past three year.3. He is Inexperienced but has the weight and action to make a crackerjack lineman. Coach Wall tells him that a new broom Is sup posed to sweep clean . Notice to Grangers. The Grange stands for education, both morally and socially, but especi ally education along agricultural lines. Therefore it is allied with the Department of Agriculture, Agricul tural college.1, and fairs. The work of these institutions is the work of the Grange better rural school and agriculture In i.U schools is our slogan. The Granges of this county will have a booth at the lair at La Grande including headquarters for pioneers, and following out this idea, we, at our meeting in July, decided to give a chicken dinner during the week of the fair to put Into practice the teaching of our order, by a practical application of the principles of ourj order and so published in both daily papers of La Grande. At our meeting in August we se lected the day for our dinner as Thursday, it being the only day that our members could have their work at thu fair, and also published same as before. Now that the Presbyterian Aid so ciety have selected the same day, we will therefore hav eao chicken din ner for the public during the fair, but will proceed to devour it our selves. C. D. HUFFMAN.
