WANTS FRANKS I. STATUS QUO.
In Other Words All Matters Pertain
ing to Him Are to be Pnt on Ice.
The case of II. Franks, who escaped
from custody at North Powder while
being brought from La Grande to Ba
ker, .had .a development today when
ProsecutlLg Attorney Levens filed a
motion asking the court to withhold
all matters pertaining-to Franks in
status quo. This means, according
to a county official, that all Franks
court matters shall he put on ice un
til the wily man 13 located and
brought back to Baker county, or un
til the fact is established that he is
dead, proof of which would be con
clusive If his skeleton were produced
In court. In the Instrument filed to
day the affidavits of physicians offi
cers and order of the court are em
bodied, with a request from Levens
as above mentioned. The court has
set Saturday morning at 9 o'clock a.
m. for hearing. Baker City Herald.
