his duties as a teacher in the high

Dr. Rader, editor of the Pacific Ad

on the morning train en route to the
Idaho conference. The Advocate is
the church paper of the Methodist de
nomination for Washington, Oregon
and Idaho. And under the director
ship of Dr. Rader is covering the field
to a larger extent than ever.

Word was received here today, that
a daughter blessed the home of Mr.
and Mrs. HIrshell McKinnls, who are
now residents ofModesto, California.
Mrs. Mox Block and daughter re

where they have been living for the
past year. They will make La Grande
their home again.

estate firm of Couch McDonald of
Wallowa, returned home this morning
after spending a few days here look
ing after business matters.

mous In this county for raising the
large strawberries at Elgin, but more
recently of Wallowa county, arrived
ia La Grande this afternoon accom
panied by his family. They are on
tkelr way to California, where they
vlll make their future home.
Some very important business is
to come up for consideration at tne
annual meeting of the Commercial
club on the 16th of this month. All
will start the new commercial year
here with more vim and as in the past
the good work will go on. The elec
tion of officers too, Is attracting a
great deal of attention.
