La Grande sustained a walloping
at Huntington yesterday, score 14-6.
The home team was off color. Nelson
was hit freely, and what la more, the
Huntington swatters seemed to place
their hits always. Proe, who usually
plays faultless ball, was suffering
with an off day. Bradley was no bet
ter, and this added to the swatting
ran up the score. However, the score
Is not Just right for about four of
the scores were results of bad de
cisions at the home plate. The er
rors in Judgment by the umpire, did
evidently, win the game for Hunting
ton, however, only serving to make
the score larger than it Justly should
be.
The diamond was much faster than
any thing the home team has been on
this year, and this in a measure was
responsible for ragged fielding.

La Grande's second team yesterday
overwhelmingly defeated the Clerks
in a matinee at the Lincoln play
grounds. The final score was 14 to
4. A comedy of errors on the Clerk's
part was largely responsible for the
one-sided score, though the small
crowd got its money worth watching
the contest. It was good pastime
for players and audience alike.
