Eastern Elks who have attended the
big convention at Los Angeles, and
who have been at the Seattle fair,
passd through La Grande last evening
as the second section of No. 8.
They were here but a few minutes,
but during that brief space of time,
created more downright fun at the
depot thn any gathering of . twice
that size would usually . establish in
a -day. Railroad employes who had
charge of the train, are still talking
about the Jollification going between
Pendleton and Huntington.

The game here tomorrow between
che Clerks and the Second Team,
promises to be a fast one as both
teams have been putting in some hard
work practicing. Every evening be
tween 7 and 8 o'clock if one should
wander out to Lincoln park they
would have seen some of .the boys
stirring up the dust with consistent
practice. The changes made In the
line-up of both teams will also aid
greatly.
The hoys have been advertising their
game considerably and a large crowd
is expected to attend. The Clerks have
not been feeling Just right since their
awful walloping th first time and if
they can't get revenge on the Band
Boys they are willing to take it out
of anyone and they are going to try
their best to get this revenge tomor
row. The line-up of the teams are as fol
