Ba ker Clifford and Enberg. Passenger traffic ou the trans-continental roads have increase I to such an extent that the officials or the O. S. L. will in a short time put on an extra train to be run between Salt Lake and Portland. The trt-ia will leave Ogden between 7 and S o'clock in the morning making U arrive in La Grande about noon the next day. While it Is not certain just v.t what time the train will be put on t will probablly be about the first of next month. . For quite a while the officials havo realized that the passenger equip ments on the two roads were inad equate for the great amount of traf fic and it was only recently decide! that the new train was necessary. The new train will aid La Grande com mercially more than anything that has happened to It for some time an 1 the people In general will rejoice over the news. LOS ARdELES PAPER (IVES LOCALE IKS BLOW Off The Los Angeles Examiner is here and is a mamoth Elk edition and give the Elks of La Grande one page. It has the half tone cuts of all of the officers and also tells of the wonder ful resources of La Grande and sur rounding country. It says in pare of the Elks' lodge here: "At La Grande another one of those beautiful little cties in the heart of Oregon, Elkdom has grown to become the by word of all of Its prominent citizens and No. 433 boasts of being one of thj most flourishing lodges In the state. It was organized about ten years ago, with a charter membership of 40. To day it has more than 500 members. The lodge has its own buildings which is used by them exclusively and is said to be the finest furnished lodga of Its kind in the eastern part of the state."
