Darley, who has the supervision of work on the Meadow brook project, has purchased through the C. J. Black agency, the George Stoddard property on O street form erly occuped by W. K. Davis. The sale price was $1650, and Mr. Darley has already commenced reshingllng and repainting. The lawn will be im proved, and considerable repairs of a general nature made. Mr. Darley will move his family here as soon as he conveniently can. This Is another proof of the favor able Impression La Grande makes on strangers. Mr. Darley, an engineer of the first order, can look far enough in . to the future to picture in his mind's eye something of what a Grande will be when water is turned loose on the soil, and to be on the ground floor, will own realty prop erty in the city which will be sha metropolis of all Eastern Oregon in short order.
