George Carpenter, editor of the Deseret News, published at Salt Lake and the official organ of the L. D. S. church, is here calling on friends and business acouaintances today. Mr. and Mrs. J Jewels of Ogden, went on to Seattle today after spend ing a day and a night with Engineer and. Mrs. L. E. Ferguson. Mrs. Fer guson and the guests are lUe-long friends. Mrs. E. D. Selders, and daughter Miss Ruth, and Mr. and Mrs. Blood, left today for Portland and Seattle. Miss Ruth will visit with friends In The Dalles while the others , of the party go on to Seattle. . . Mrs. C. S. Dunn and daughter Laura left today for Pendleton from where Miss Laura goes to Walla Walla to spend the time which is consumed by Mr. and Mrs. Dunn at the Elks' con clave at Los Angeles.
