Halley, was instantly, killed and Frank Halley, son of the owner, was seriously hurt in an accident which ! occurred at the race track yesterday j morning. The horse broke its neck, dying almost instantly. Frank had been riding the animal in training for races to be' pull ad oft during the Fourth of July celebration, and was proceeding at a somewhat rapid gait through the weeds that have overgrown the track, when the animal stumbled. Just how the horse struck the ground is not known,. but it was In such a way that the saddle horn caught Mr. Halley over the col lar bone breaking that part of his anatomy. A nervous spasm or two, was the only action nt ftcr the fall. Frank was taken to the city and given medical attention.
