INJURED An accident tliat will likely cost the use of Leo Herring's left eye, occurred at noon today while he and other men of the Grande Ronde Elec tric, company's wire crew were re pairing a motor at the L. D. S. Taber nacle. Mr. Herring was working with a stiff spring near the motor, when it sprang from its fastening, and struck the workman In the left eye. The eye glass which he wore at the time escaped without Injury, pe ceuliarly enough. His fellow work men, Messrs Brittan and Donqulst. hurried Mr.Herrlug to Dr. M. K. Hall s office, where an examination disclosed the fact that the eye itself was cut with a pitsh three-fourths of an Inch lona. While there Is a slight possi bility that Bisht may be restored, there is but slight probability of it. Hard luck seems to tramp on Mr. Herring's trail, for it was only re cently that he was painfully hint. It is hoped that fortune will smile on him sufficiently to restore his sight. Medical attention will be exercised to the utmost lu his behalf. DROWNING MYSTERY HEAVILY WK'IUHED IMW.V WITH KOI'KS AMI TIKI.
