' . . n.i STUDEIIIS The third reunion of the students and friends of the former Blue Moun tain University, held In this city Sat urday night was attenderby about 100 people. If was entirely" Informal, but the few nambers on the program were" truly appreciated. They includ ed a reading by Mrs. Jessie "Baker Matott; a solo by Mrs. Millie Stotts Young; a selection by Mrs. Eidth Carter Gekeler, and a memorial by Mrs. Klttie GoodaB Turner. During the banquet a number of toasts and remenisences were responded to un der the direction of Toast Master Fred B. Currey. At the business meeting J. E. Rey nolds was reelected president; W. D. Grandy vice-president for Union coun ty; Geo. Small for Baker, and John McDonald for ; Wallowa.:; Mrs. Hattle Preobstel Eckley, secretary' and Mrs. Winnie Wilkinson Williamson, treas for it was generally understood that another reunion would be held next year. f " Saturday afternoon at 5:20 Mrs. Lyda Jones died at the family home on Maine avenue. The funeral sen itB were held this afternoon from the home under the auspices of the Order of Eastern Star, of which she was ono of the charter members, Dr. Seeman officiating. The interment took place lu the .Masonic cemetery. Mrs. Jones was bon in Lake county, California, 18G0 and moved with her parents to this valley In 1863. On July 4, 1877 she was married ' to Joseph Jones, who with the family were at the bedside when she paBsed away. Th children to this union are Mrs. Annie Weatherby of Seattle, Cluad of Portland, Lena, Hazel Made line, Ruth, Ralph and the baby aged five months. Ed died May 8, 1907. ' Her parents, the well known pio neers, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Owsley, passed away several years ago. Her brothers Frank Owsley of Colfax, Charles of Arlington, Lee and Bait of this city were all present today and the family share the sympathy of a large acquaintance. To know Mrs. Jones was to love her, kind and ten der, patient and choerful, always thoughtful of the sick and ever ready to lend a helping hand. NolIc 1o Contractors.
