pleasant one and Is open to all Sun
day school members.
Joe Carr and Walter Neider, who
left Saturday morning for the Wal
lowa country on a fishing exceursion,
returned with some fish this after
noon. The peace demonstration given by
the societies of the Mormon church
yesterday was a very pleasing one,
and a large number of visitors were

R. II. Gardinier and family, of
Reedfleld, Me., arrived on No. 7 this
morning and will remain a few" days
as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Steve
Gardinier, before going on to : Port
land. The two gentlmen are cousins.
A new timetable for main line
trains is said to be under discussion
by head officials of the O. R. N. The
present arrangement is Bald to be
unsatisfactory to all concerned. "

Mrs. Rachel Goldstein, of San Fran

months as the guest of Mrs. Levy.
W. M. Adams, the' pump man at
Kamela, was taken to Portland last
evening, where he will take treatment
at a hospil for his eyes. He has
lost his sight completely, but hopes
to receive benefit at the hands of
specialists..
Dr. Nevlus, the pioneer Episcopal
minister, was in La Grande last eve
ning en route to his home from Baker
City. While here,- he was the guest
of Mr. and Mrs. 'Jap Stevens, and left
for his Pendleton honie on the morn
ing train. . ,
