home and will move to Olmpia, Wash.,

Several Elks were at Hot Lake yes
terday and on their return report that
Fred Swaney is rapidly improving in
health. They say that Fred is really
well enough to come home now, but is
taking chances by the forelock and
will remain until fully recovered and

Bolton and Bodmer have received
the new road grader recently pur
chased by the county ' court. This
makes a total of six road machines
belonging to Union county. One of
them, which is like the new one just
received, is used around Summerville,
Alicel and Imbler; one is stationed
at Xorth Powder, oneat Elgin, one
in Hempe district near Union; one at
Cove and the other one will be used
in preparing the roads, for the maca-j
dam work to be taken up in the near
future.
