The exception is that of president of the organization, which officer will probably be selected at the next busi ness meeting. Herman Clark, of the La Grande National bank, has occu pied the office for the past two years with satisfaction to all members, but was unwilling to longer serve In Uiat capacity. - The other officers are aa follows: 1st vice-president, depart ment of devotional work, Herman Clark; 2nd vice-president, niisslonpry department, Hattie Mc.Murry; Cd vice president, mercy and' help department. Belle-Ferguson; 4th vice-president, social and literary work, Nina Tuckey; secretary,. Bertha , Orton; treasurer. Jeanette Wheatley. Roscoe West, accompanied by his wife and mother, returned from Prcs ser, Wash., last night and will remain In La Grande Indefinitely. Mr. West's mother, Mrs. Anna West, will after a short visit here, go to Clark, !?.: O., to spend the remainder of the summer with other relatives. While in Pros ser the well drilling firm of Miller end West completed four wells, of tin av erage depth of 200 feet for the fruit raisers in that section, and installed a pump at Nabton, about 10 miles from Prosser, for an Everett firm who hud sunk a well in an orchard trai t, but were unable to put in a pump that would raise the water from the brttr-m of the 300 foot hole.
