This time he will probably re main, having secured a position ts railroad engineer. , Mrs. Henry RInehart of Su'mmer: ville, who is grand conductress for the Eastern Star in Oregon, spent Saturday in the city assisting with the public dinner. Her assistance was greatly appreciated by all. Mrs. O. F. Coolidge, who was ojwra ted upon at the Grande Ronde h s pital last Saturday, JsreBting very satisfactorily today. The operation was performed by Dr. Richardson. Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Green returned today from Gooding. Idaho, near Twin Falls, where they. proved up on a val uable claim under the Carey act. They have been gone five weeks and come back tired of the shanty life. R. B. Strause of Stouchburg, Penns ylvania, has reached here to assume the duties of a stenoghapher in the land office. Given, guardian of Maggie Given, whose correct name 1s Mar garet Given for an order authorizing him as such guardian to sell, the following described land belonging to Baid Margaret Given, his said ward, to wit $.11 of the Northeast quarter of Northwest quarter section Thirty Township Four South of Range Forty E. W. M. in Union County Oregon excepting that portion thereof here tofore conveyed to Minnie OBtrander by W..B-. Beidleman and Clara Beidle man on May 24, 1SS9 and described as follows to wit; Commencing at the Southwest corner of the N. E. V, of N.-W, i of Sec. 30 Twp. 4.S.R.40 E. AV. M, and running thence East fifty four rods ..:id six links, thence North fifty nine rods' and three links, thence west fifty four rods and six links and thence South' fifty nine rod and three links to place of beginning, with the water right owned and used in connection with the said land of said Margaret Given described as an undivided one eigth interest in what is known and described as the Pres- cott Ditch, and more particularly de scribed in the muniments of title of said Magaret Given to said lands; it appearing that the sole next kin of said ward and only persons Inter ested in said lands are Alfred Given, John F Given, William A.
