The county court baa made a sat
isfactory settlement with the bonds
men of County Treasurer John Fraw
ley. to cover the loss sustained by the
fallur of the Farmers A Traders Na
tional Bank. At the time the doors
closed the treasurer had about 2l,4f'0
on deposit The dividend of 4i per
tent reduced the amount to about
$11,000 and when the county court
made the demand on the bondsmen
for the remainder, they waived all
rights for litigation and agreed - to
reimburse the county by paying 2H0
in cash and remainder in install
ments within the year. After . due
consideration the court accepted the
offer, so all the county , will be out
will bev the Interest, . which 'will
amount to les than $300. ' Taking
everything into consideratlqn this ln
certainly a very satlsfactry conclu-
niou oi a very., unfortunate ;:. affair
Had the bank failed either a few
days before It did o ra few days later
the amount of county funds in the in
stitution would ' not' have exceded a
few thousand dollars. Mr. Frawley
had made a policy of depositing the
county money in the several . banks
of the county but used the Farmers
& Traders Bank for his checking ac
count. He was drawing from the
other banks to -pay. out $18,000 of

at the time of the failure.
No county in the state has ever had
a more painstaking or careful trasur
er and no one blames him, not even
his bondsmen, who during all of this
time have never asked to be relieved,
knowing that the loss was through
no fault of his.
which no one regretted more than
Mr. Frawley. For the sixth term
Treasurer Frawley has been serving
the county in his present capacity.
For the first six years of this period
he received for his services $58 per
month, then the salary was increased
to $83 per month where It remained
until one, year ago when the legis
lature made the enumeration $1200
per annum. The . entire enumera
tion 11 r; Frawley has received during
the !U "years he .has been In ..office
would not equal his loss. During all
this time he has done all the work
connected with the office .and uot one
dollar's worth of extra clerical hire
has ever ben charged to the county.
Another unforunate incident was

Collegian Clothes
represents the highest type of ready to wear
apparel America produces. The fabric, i the
linings, the tailoring and the fitting qualities
are best appreciated when critically compared

man who is painstaking in the selection of his
clothes who recognizes the real worth of a
well made garment with v which is combined
the best features of present day fashion is the
man whose attention we seek. Gollegian
