PROGRESS OF WOMAX SUFFRAGE. ,The Iowa Woman Suffrage Associa tion has addressed a letter to each candidate for the State Legislature asking him what action he dill take on the woman 'suffrage question, If elected, and telling htm that If he does not reply before a certain dale, his silence will be construed as opposi tion. The suffragists resent the treat ment they received at the hands of the Legislature this last winter and they propose to let the members know It. . . - The Central' Labor Council of Los Angeles. Cal. on April 2 adopted a set of resolutions strongly endorsing woman suffrage and recommending all members to sign the woman suf frage petition to Congress. On April 8, the District Council of Carpenters Of Philadelphia took slmlnlr action, pledging "to assist the Pennsylvania Woman Suffrage Asssoclatlon In se curing signatures to the National Petition to Congress to submit to the Legislature of the several Stales for ratification bh amendment to the Na tional Constlution which shall enable, women to vote.
