Mr. Wyatt, who was on the reportorlal staff of the Morning Star, is now In Seattle and Mrs. Wyatt ex pects to join him there shortly, s L. W. Morton of La Grande,' has bought the photograph gallery of G. W. Terwllliger, who leaves for Port land. Mr. Morton has been located at La Grande for the past four years and Is well known to most of the people of Union. Union Scout. . Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Baker and fam ily from near Sheridan, Oregon, are visiting at the home of Mrs. Baker's sister, Mrs. S. N. ' La Grande is making big prepara tions to entertain the delegates to the Oregon and Idaho congress next Tues day and Wednesday. Dutch, secretary of the Amer ican Light & Power company who has been in the city several days, looking after matters pertaining to the con struction of the Beaver creek pipe line left for the East last evening. When the time comes the company will make a bid on the construction of the Irrigation project. Conductor and Mrs. W. H. Kelsey have returned from Portland whera Mr. Kelsey has been in the hospital for several weeks. He is suffering from Brlghfa disease and it is feared that the rally which enabled him to be removed to his home in this city Is but temporary. He was reported this morning to be resting fairly well after the trip up from Portland. East Oregonian. The special lights add greatly to the appearance of the city, and under Superintendent Charles Gore, they are up In better shape than ever before. , State Deputy Grand Master Edward Coolldge aud District Deputy Grand Master J. A. Arbuckle went to Haines this morning to assist Bristow Lodge I. 0. 0. F. in the dedication of their new temple today. .. F. K. Lowry and John R. Ulen, both gentlemen connected with the Amer ican Light and Water company, left on the Elgin train this morning fjr Enterprise where Mr. Ulen will have charge of the construction work of the Enterprise water system. Mr. Parce, known n the north end of the county as "Snakey Jim," after speding a few days in the city return ed to his home this morning accom panied by friends and relatives from the East who arrived yesterday morn ing. Mr. Parce is in the employ of the Palmer Lumber Company. J. L. Caviness leaves tonight for Portland, and will go from there to Denmark, Curry county, where Dr. Molitor is now staying. At nine o'clock in the morning of April 23, the marriage of Miss Linda Bodmer and Mr. Herbeit Chandler was solemnised with a beautiful1 and Im pressive service by Dr. Seeman, at the home of Mrs. Ingle, where Miss Bodmer's brother, Mr. H. A. Bodmer and his little daughter Stella, reside. At eight o'clock a breakfast of four courses was served. 'Tij table dec o rations wero bride's roses and sniilnx and the unique place cards were tiny cupids, holding heart shaped cards bearing the names of the guests. Immediately following the " break fast, all entered the parlors which loving hands had decorated with white carnations, hyacinths and fern." Mrs. Barrle sa In her own sweet man ner. Then standing In the archway fes tooned with white satin ribbon and outliued with graceful traceries of fern and white carnations, and with little' Stella bearing the ring on a white satin cushion, Dr. Seeman per formed the ceremony uniting the char ming bride and the manyl groom. The bride was attired 1 na' simple traveling dress of blue. " , Both of the young people are well known here and In Baker City, where Mr. Chandler Is engaged in stock raising. ' Immediately after the ceremony. Mr, and Mrs. Chandler departed lu an automobile for Baker City,, whence they will proceed on horse back to their stock ranch on Burnt River. The best wishes of many friends follow them. They will be at home in Baker City after September 1. Those present were,- besides the bride and groom, Mrs. Ana Badmer.
