Farmers' Organisation Have Forces' . Trust to Reduce Charges. . , The announcement is made that warehouse charges are to be reduced from 75 to 50 cents per ton on grain handled by all of the trust ware houses doing business in the Inland Empire, says the Farmers Pacific Un ion. This notice Is being heralded throughout the land, the trusts tak ing pains to have it advertised in the press of the Northwest. There is a method In this action. No one can doubt that this reduction forestalls the building of warehouses by the Farmers' Union and kindred associations, two of which exist in Union county. The price Is being ulaced back at the old figure which prevailed for 20 years until the grain combines had perfected such a stnuri organization that - the manage thought they had the situation "cinch ed' and could control prices to ruit themselves. There is little doubt thi.t had they been unmolested another ad vance would have been made this year, instead or a reduction neing oi- dered. It is not boasting, but simply reoeatinx the truCh to say that hud it not been for the farmers oraui ine and building a few grain ware houses and the fear that they wotilJ continue and eventually handle all of their own grain which has forced the combine to drop prices. This weans that the farmers have forced a re duction in warehouse charges which will save half a million dollars an nually to the fanners of the Inland Empire. That is several times the cost of conducting the Union for a fear. The difference in tne.m.-thpa I'VC- sued In lowering the rates from that used when rates were raised Is iston lshlng and amusing. TL combine ai rnwoA tn nlia warphfttn rhirees . --o- . one knew until the first load of wheat ivas delivered at the warehouse tmd the receipt taken that charges had been advanced. It was a blow in the dark and came at a time when there was no way to avoid it Ilarve&t whs on and the grain had to be delivered to the warehouses. . SPECIAL ELECT10S NOTICE.
