Boozer, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of this city was honored by the Grande Ronde Tresbytery last evening at Its opening session In this city, by elec tion as moderator. The election, owing to the fuct that the home min ister was selected was unusual and an hono r greatly appreciated by Dr. Boozer and the members of his congregation. Tno election occurred during the first business session of the Presby tery which opened last night at' 7:30 o'clock in the Presbyterian church, with Dr. Seeman of I-a Grande, the retiring moderator, presiding. The attendance was remarkably large, ev ery minister In Baker, I'nlon, Mal heur, Harney, Grant and Wallowa counties being present, together with a large number of elderB attending and dlegates. At the opening of th Presbytery, Dr. Seeman addressed the body on "How to Live," delivering a most excellent and helpful sermon. The election of Dr. Boozer as moderator and Rev. Youell, of Union, as clerk then followed. . In connection with the Presbyterial meeting is the fifth annual meettng of the women's Presbyterial Mission ary Society, which will meet this af ternoon at the First M. E. Church. At this meeting Mrs. W. S. Seeman and Mrs. Mary Kirk of La Grande will take important parts.
