At a pedal meeting of the Ontario Commercial club last evening plan were perfected for the meeting of the Oregon-Idaho Development congress, which will meet In this city next Friday and Sat urday. The various committees made favorable reports and the present In dications are that this will bo the largest attended session of the Devel opment congress yet held. The Commercial clubs of Bo!?. Welser. Caldwell. Vale, Burns and Nyssta are arranging to send large del egations while representatives will be present from all of the Important cen ters of the two states. Among the prominent personages who will bo nresent and address the congress are Judge Stephen A. Lowell of Pendle ton, president of the congress; Col. E. Hofer, of the Salem oJurnal, vice president; Col. C. E. S. Wood of Port land, Governor Brady of Idaho, Hon. Fred J. Klessel of Ogden, Senator Hart of Baker City. Hon. A. W. Cowan of Burns, Judge J. H. Richards of Boise, and Hon. Sam Whtie of Baker City. The reception committee will open headquarters In the Commercial club rooms and the Ontario Encore band will meet all trains Friday and escort the delegates to the club rooms, where accommodations will be assigned to the visitors. Both the Masonic and Odd Fellows' hall will be used as re ception rooms for the guests during the congress. The committee on accommodations Is doing all It can to Insure the com fort of the visitors while In the city. mm The board' of managers of the Com mercial club decided at a meeting last night to provide for a float at the Portland Rose festival, to be held June 7 to 12. The float will be emblemati cal of the chief and characteristic re sources of Union county Biigar, lum ber, cherries, apples, etc. Union county will also be fittingly advertised at the A. Y. P. exposition. A committee, of which J. D.
