With practically every other detail complete, lh tu!!rMr.ss erer'r-d and cihibfrs tiff ing rupbhy liiitalU-J, the A!a.-ika-ii-kon-I'aclflc txpobltlon of three months before the opening Ih left with noth ing to worry about except tiio partici pation of various Htatea in the union. Four mate buildings are already stand ing on the fair grounds, while 13 state are certain to exalblt, and some of them have yet to erect their struc tures. Some will show their displays in the main exposition builulngs. The late comers are those who delayed their appropriations until the 1909 ses sions of their legislatures. Commis sioner General J. B. Meikle estimated on March 1 that there were then pend ing appropriations amounting to over 8300,000 in different states. Most of this la in states that the exposition au thorities have not been seriously con fident were going to exhibit, and any thing done by these states at the elev enth hour will be doubly pleasing as it Is more or less unexpected. Three Cont Building Complete. The Pacific coast states were first In the fie'ld at the A. T. P. exposition. Oregon finished her building ,first, California second and Washington third. These three buildings are now complete, and exhibits are being in .ilkllnd. New York, whose handsome building will revert to tile University of Washington after tUu fair, and will be used as a residence for the presi dent of that Instlttuion, has her work vvell In hand. Eunlci'ii State Appropriate. Among the eastern states Massa chusetts, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey and others will exhibit in some of the main exhibit palaces. In the middle west, Wisconsin and Min nesota have $50,000 appropriations pending before their legislatures. Mis souri, which a year ago declined to exhibit, has reconsidered the matter at the demand of Governor Hadley, who urges his state to spend 840,000 for an exhibit. In every other detail, the A. T. P. exposition today stands very nearly complete, and the opening could be held on May 1 as well as June 1, if the directors saw fit. Exhibits are being installed In the main palaces, and the shows along the Pay Streak. The four government buildings are taking on a finished look, and the managerial brows have lost their wrinkles with the assurance that they have made good the A. Y. P. motto, "The Fair That Will jo Heady." SPELLING MATCH. -j One of Hie Ken I Ol.l-I'n.lil.oil Kind Held at Rock Creek.
