ing. Assessor Rinehart made his week
end visit to Walla Walla today to vis
it with his wife, who is recuperating
at the Garden City. Mrs. Rinehart Is
reported as improving slowly.

G. E. McCully and wife spent Thurs
day and Friday at Hot Lake, going
over with 'Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Swaney.
Mr. Swaney will take treatment at the
sanatorium, and Mrs. Swaney will re
main a few days with him.
W. F. Matlock of Pendleton, is at
Hot Lake with his daughter, .Mrs. rrca
Lanta, and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Carl
Wheeler, who are at the sanatorium
for treatment. Mr. Matlock Is the
eastern Oregon representative on the
state fair board.
J. E. Reynolds and Mr. and Mrs.
Fred J. Holmes returned this morn
ing from the Calgary country, where
they have been looking over the pos
sibilities of that rapidly developing
country. They report having had a
roost pleasant trip.

uration ceremonies and we all know
that La Grande was duly represented

Another freight crew was put on
yesterday. Railroad business Is pick
ing up In all departments, freight as
well as passenger. There are very few
men on the extra list at present.
No. 1, the morning westbound train,
came In two sections again today, the
colonist section carrying . 1 73 through
fares. The first section carried local
passenKers, baggage, mall and express.
This arrangement will be the govern
ing rule through the entire colonlstic
season.
