Phone Main 10: It Is apparent that La Grande's at tempt to land the eastern Oregon hlh school athletic conference the latter nmt of this month. I.s one that carries weight. While no direct state ment has been made to the effect that the conference will be held here rather than in Pendleton, the fact is that Pendleton athletic officials are willing to arbitrate the matter. The first step in assent to the proposition advanced by tile La Grande school, came in a letter from Pendleton today stating that Piineipal Hampton of the Pendleton school will tto to Raker City tonight to confer with school of ficials in that city relative to the com ing conference. On the way there he will discuss the proposition briefly, tonight, with local members of the that with the proper efforts the con ference will be assured this city.
