The Pendleton East' Ore- gonlan for Thursday reports the re- nint in Pendleton of the following telegram that Is self-explanatory: Salem, Ore., Jan. 21. M. B. Circuit Judge Bean yesterday signed the man date which will send R. W. Deal of Union county, to the state penitentiary to serve a sentence pronounced some time ago Tor horse stealing. Deal is the aged Union county pioneer who was tiled In Umatilla county last spring on a change of venue, He was found a guilty of the larceny ot a span i horses and given a thrce-year sentence In the penitentiary- The case was ap pealed to the supreme court, which re cently upheld the lower court, and Deal will now be taken to the peniten tiary without further delay.
