' The furnace In the Christian church "went wrong" last night and the audi ence at the special meeting was sent to the basement where an Impromptu service was held. All trouble has been remedied today and the church will be ready for the audience tonight. The room In the rear of the United States National bank Is being put In readiness for Receiver Nledner, of the suspended Farmers & Traders' Na tional. The charter for the United States National Is expected on every mall and the officers are getting ready to commence business as soon as the charter arrives. Among those who went to Portland last evening, are John Collier, presi dent of the local Merchants' Protective association; H. J. Rltter.'the photog rapher; J. G. Snodgrass and E. E.
