The organization of the Joseph Ware house company corporation was ef fected here Thursday evening. The capital stock siibncribed Is over JIOOO. and over $1000 of It was represented in person at the meeting. The citi zens and business men of Joseph are the stockholders, It being the Inten tion to have but the one warehouse here, all the of the people co-operating In this effort to accommodate the shippers and woolgrowers without the expenditure of a dollar by those Inter ests. Hiatt was held yesterday from the L. I). S. tabernacle in this city. Mr. iiiait died at Hermiston last week. Ihe deecastd was born in Indiana on January 19, 1833. He came west in 1850 and joined the Church of Jesus v'hrlst of Latter Day Saints in Utah a year later. He lived In that state until 1880, when he moved to Fremont county, Idaho. The same year he was une of the pioneers who built up the .pper Snake river country. In 1901 .ie moved to Oregon and had sine .imclu his home In the Grande Ronde valley. He Is survived by a wife, seven 40ns and one daughter. When death in the form of peritonitis overtook him ne was at Hermlston, and his body was shipped to La Grande yesterday morning for interment.
