Chicago, Dec. 31. Under a new rule
adopted by the University of Chicago, I
effective today, women students will
not be allowed to live at the same
boarding houses where male students
are housed. It is the custom of the
university' to "assign" students to suit-,
able boarding places and as landlords
are thuB somewhat dependent upon .
the Institution, the faculty hopes to be
able to enforce the new rule without
difficulty. The landlords are to be
Instructed to provide reception par
lors for the young women where they
can receive calls at "suitable hours."

Several Plan Trip.
On account of the fact that holiday
rates are In effect and Individual
tickets can be purchased at one and a
third fareseveral La Grande people
are planning on accompanying the
football team to Pendleton this eve
ning. The game tomorrow afternoon
will undoubtedly be a hummer and
will be an interesting affair to witness.

The last signal drill has been given
the local football team aqd everything
Is In readiness for the trip to Pen
dleton tonight. Those who will go as
players are: Captain Ralph Reynolds,
Harris French, Drlacoll, Jasper, Bean,
Grandy, Goodall, Cajlor, Stltes, Ren
Grout, Fred Grout, Nelson, Childers,
Ileldenrelch, Gillllan and Adler. Coach
Wall and C. C. Clark of Union, will
also accompany the squad.
